How is Metrics Energy paid?
When you sign a contract we arranged, the supplier pays us a commission. It is included in what you pay, as part of the unit rate (pence per kWh) and/or the standing charge (pence per day). There's no separate invoice from us. Full details: How we are paid.
Does using a broker cost me anything?
Getting a quote doesn't. If you take a contract through us, our commission is built into the rates, so the price you pay includes our fee. We'll explain the commission before you agree, and tell you the amount in a quote if you ask.
What should I send you?
One recent bill for each supply. It shows your MPAN or MPRN, usage, supplier and current rates. Add your contract end date if you know it.
What's a Letter of Authority?
A short form that lets suppliers discuss your account with us, so we can request usage and pricing. Signing it doesn't sign you up to anything.
Can you help before my contract ends?
Yes, and earlier is better. Many suppliers will price a new contract well ahead of your end date. Leaving a contract early is different and may involve exit fees, which we'll check first.
Will my supply be cut off during a switch?
No. Only the company billing you changes. The pipes, cables and meters stay the same.
I've just taken on new premises. What now?
Take meter readings on day one and contact us with the address and date. Until a contract is agreed you'll usually be on deemed rates, so it pays to act quickly.
Can my business switch water retailer?
Most businesses in England and Scotland can. Wales is more limited. See Business Water.

How do I complain?
Contact us first and we'll try to put it right. If it isn't resolved within 8 weeks, or we send a final "deadlock" response, eligible customers can take it to the Energy Ombudsman free of charge. See our Complaints page.
